Hotel Rome near Baths of Diocletian, an authentic masterpiece

The Demetra, Hotel in Rome near the Baths of Diocletian invites you to discover such an ancient wonder.

They were the largests baths in old-day Rome and are located near the premises of our 4 stars Hotel. Built between the years 298 and 306 AD, they are now surrounded by two squares Piazza della Repubblica and P. dei Cinquecento, plus Via Volturno and Via XX Settembre.

Originally erected with the needs of the most populous districts in mind: Quirinale, Viminale and Esquiline, they resemble those in Caracalla in both shape and size.

They covered almost 14 acres, could harbor up to 2400 basins and welcomed over three thousand customers.

Our modern Hotel at the Baths district allows for a visit to their grounds, which include a shrine where 2 axes intercrossed and housed the steam bath rooms, tepidarium, frigidarium and the gymnasium.

Some of the remains of the apses near the original site construction enable visitors to access the Santa Maria degli Angeli Cathedral.

Our welcoming Hotel in Rome near the Roman National Museum is ideal for whoever whishes to go deeper into the Rome's glorious past.
